How expensive is a honeymoon to the Maldives? Is the Maldives cheap for a honeymoon?

Let’s be honest, The Maldives is definitely not the place to save some bucks! Although it depends on where you stay and the inclusion package that you choose for your honeymoon will determine the final price, it is still pricey.

This is because everything is imported to The Maldives making all foods, drinks, alcohol, you name it, expensive!

On average, the cost for a 7-night stay honeymoon all-inclusive would go from

the cost for a seven-night stay, including accommodations and transportation, $10,000 to upwards of $25,000.

This is including transportation, flights, all meals and activities.

Alcohol is never included and it will have to be paid separately. It can be very expensive, with cocktail prices averaging around 25-30 USD.

Wine can go upwards of around 5 times of that price, so if you order some wine, make sure you enjoy it! Some resorts may include alcohol costs, usually the ones with an all-inclusive policy.

We found that the half-board plan package including breakfast and dinner was more than enough for us as we were super busy with activities and out and about. We could save some money this way too!

Transportation costs are usually about 200-1000 USD, depending on the resort you are staying in. These costs are not included in the resort inclusions.

Another thing to notice is to tip staff in restaurants and activities. We found that about 25 USD a day was good.

It is an expensive destination, particularly if you are staying at a luxury resort. In contrast, you can stay in more budget hotels to save some bucks but it definitely is not a cheap place.

Lastly, flights can also be pricey depending on where you are coming from. We definitely recommend getting an all-inclusive or half-included package where everything is taken care of.

You can dine a la carte and get all the bits separately but you will end up paying much more.
